Eh, I beg to differ. I still think the whitish blue one would have worked better. The black-gray, to me, seems to be slightly out of place, where-as the light blue one seemed to fit better - not jarringly out of place, just slightly so in comparison to the light blue. That, of course, is a matter of taste, and essentially purely subjective.
On another note, I also still think that a black pearl with a light blue (same color as in the wing-like-things) shine inside it would have been more fitting than any of the alternatives you were deciding between.
That would completely miss the point. Had I wanted to make the picture a certain way, I would've either commissioned you, asked really nicely, or, indeed, drawn it myself.
But, of course, that is not the case. What is the case, was that you had asked me for an opinion on it a while back. I gave you one (which, I might note, you did not indicate you disagreed with at the time, and now categorically state would not have worked). And since you now do show disagreement with my opinion, I think it is only natural that I restate said opinion, along with additional reasons for why I think that was the case, should you or anyone else wish to disagree or agree with either the opinion, or the reasoning behind it.
You yourself might not want critique, but me stating what I thought on the subject continues, and contributes to, an avenue of discussion that other dA users who view your work may wish to pursue.
You didn't exactly get what I was saying. I "would've" commissioned you. I never said that I did. Nor have I ever 'asked' you, nicely or otherwise, for anything, when it comes to your art. In fact, go ahead and tell me of one time when I actually asked you to change something about your art. Never happened. I've given my opinions on things, but I've never told you that you should actually change/do anything in accordance to those opinions. And 90% of the time that I do give you my opinions, it's after you've asked for them.
At any rate, I still think everything I said was perfectly valid. You asked in the very description of the piece: "Tell me if the black pearl works or not." But then when I state my opinion on the matter - doing essentially exactly what you asked for, I am apparently "hav[ing] a cow", and the like.
lol totally forgot about this xD I love hearing your opinion and I do take it to heart, but for this particular picture, I decided to take my own opinion.

I support good grammar. I am part of the "Save the Vowels" movement. Please, for your sanity and mine, type out your DAMN words. Thank you.
